About Warsaw
With its location in
the centre of Europe, at the intersection of
routes connecting East and West, North and South
of the continent, Warsaw is one of the major
centres of international traffic routes. Due to
its geographical location, Warsaw is a bridge
between the EU and Eastern European
countries.
A network of convenient road
and railway routes connects Warsaw with all the
major European cities.
The international Frederic
Chopin' Airport, located within the city borders,
offers direct flights to 57 cities around the
world and 9 largest cities in Poland. Most of
European capital cities are just a 2-hour flight
away.
The City
Warsaw is a rapidly
growing, cosmopolitan city. Its laws are fair, its society
stable and welcoming. It is the
commercial capital of the Republic of Poland.

Far from being the boiling
caldron of popular imagination, weather for the majority of
the year (October-June) is lovely. It rains only a couple of
times a year, mainly in winter (average 13 centimetres a
year). Temperatures range from a low of about 10 degrees
Celsius to a high of 48 degrees Celsius.

commerce.

States Dollar at a rate of about 3.67.

charge.
Other nationalities can arrange visas through hotels
or Polish embassies and consulates world-wide.
Entertainment
Bars, clubs
and restaurants crowd Warsaw's streets and hotel foyers like
nowhere else in the region. Alcohol is freely available in
most quality outlets. All the
authorities ask is that residents and visitors are respectful
of the national religion, Catolicism. What this means is that
displays of public drunkenness are quite rightly frowned
on.
Freedom of worship
Freedom of worship
is allowed to all religions. Christian churches of many
denominations have existed in Poland for years.
Population
Warsaw's population is
approximately 1.5 million.
